METAPHOREST // ACTIVE: CARBON NEGATIVE

[ MISSION_STATUS: ACTIVE ]

BETTER LIVING IN SUSTAINABILITY.

PROTOCOL: FRESHWATER TO SALTWATER.

We design for the transition from the Third Coast to the ocean. Gear built for this journey should leave no scar on the waters we migrate between. Our approach is absolute: high-performance technical apparel with zero ecological compromise.

01 // MATERIALS

[ CATEGORY A: ACTIVE DEPLOYMENT ]
rPET (Recycled Poly) CORE FABRIC

Diverts plastic from landfills/oceans. 75% less CO2 than virgin poly. High performance.

FP: ~1.5 – 2.5 kg CO2e/kg
Use: Boardshorts, Rashguards
Virgin Poly [OEKO-100] CONDITIONAL USE

Zero-Waste factory. Fair Labor certified. High-tensile durability for hybrid environments.

FP: ~15 – 18 kg CO2e/kg
Use: Hybrid Boardshorts, One-Piece
Virgin Elastane NECESSARY EVIL

Critical for "The Stretch." Non-biodegradable, high energy production.

FP: ~17 – 20 kg CO2e/kg
Use: Swim Blends (10-20%)
Organic Cotton LAND USE ONLY

Biodegradable. Protects soil health. Not for water (heavy when wet).

FP: ~2 – 5 kg CO2e/kg
Use: Tees, Hoodies
[ CATEGORY B: R&D PIPELINE ]
ECONYL® PILOT 2025

Regenerated Nylon from ghost nets. The "Gold Standard" for swim.

FP: ~2 – 3 kg CO2e/kg
Bio-Synthetics (EVO®) RESEARCH 2027

Castor Bean Nylon. Decouples performance from fossil fuels.

[ CATEGORY C: RESTRICTED ]
  • COMMODITY POLYESTER: BANNED. Unverified supply chains rejected.
  • CONVENTIONAL SILK: BANNED. Unethical production (boiling silkworms).
  • CONVENTIONAL COTTON: BANNED. "The Dirtiest Crop." High insecticide use.

02 // TRANSPARENCY

Tracking our migration from "Sustainable" to "Regenerative." We don't hide the data.

CURRENT STATUS (2025): 45% Recycled Content / Carbon Neutral Logistics.
TARGET (2027): 100% Circular / Climate Positive.
IMPACT METRICS (2025 Projection)
  • PLASTIC DIVERTED: ~500kg (via rPET usage)
  • CO2e AVOIDED: ~2.1 Tonnes (vs conventional logistics)
  • WATER SAVED: ~1.5M Liters (via Organic Cotton vs Conventional)
Carbon Offset Ledger

Project: Reforestation in the Upper Midwest (Third Coast conservation).

Verification: Registered via Verra (ID Pending)

03 // LOGISTICS

Moving physical goods requires energy. We prioritize efficiency over speed.

MODEEMISSIONS (g CO2e/ton-km)BLIS PROTOCOL
AIR FREIGHT500-1000RESTRICTED (<5% volume)
GROUND (TRUCK)60-150STANDARD (Domestic)
RAIL20-50PREFERRED (Hub-to-Hub)
MARITIME (SEA)10-40STANDARD (International)
THE THIRD COAST ADVANTAGE:
Being based in Chicago is a logistical strategy. It is the central rail hub of North America, allowing us to utilize low-carbon rail transport for inbound supply rather than long-haul trucking from coastal ports.

04 // SAFER CHEMISTRY

What touches your skin touches the water. We strictly adhere to ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) protocols.

WATER-BASED INKS PROTOCOL

Soaks into fabric, breathable, soft ("Soft_Breezes" standard), PVC-free.

NO PLASTISOL BANNED

Industry standard PVC-based inks sit on top of fabric, crack, and contain phthalates.

RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE LIST (RSL):
We ban PFAS, Formaldehyde, Heavy Metals, and Alkylphenols.

05 // SYSTEM OPS

The internet is a physical machine that burns coal. We have migrated our digital nervous system to 100% Renewable Energy.

HOST: HOSTINGER

Green Web Foundation Verified.
Energy: 100% Renewable (Solar/Wind/Hydro).
Scope 2 Emissions: Near Zero (15 tCO2e).

06 // FUTURE (R&D)

Sustainability is a moving target. R&D for 2026 and beyond.

1. GREEN HYDROGEN SHIPPING

Monitoring maritime shift to H2 fuel cells.

2. PEROVSKITE SOLAR

Investigating next-gen solar for warehouse operations.

3. SUPPLIER ENERGY MANDATE

By 2027, all Tier 1 manufacturers must generate 50% renewable energy on-site.

07 // MAINTENANCE

EXTEND THE MIGRATION. How to keep your gear in the cycle.

01. WASH COLD / AIR DRY

90% of a garment's energy use is user-phase. Wash at 30°C. Hang dry to save elastane.

02. MICROPLASTIC DEFENSE

All synthetics shed. Use a Guppyfriend bag to capture fibers before they enter the water table.

03. REPAIR > REPLACE

A small tear is not a death sentence. Contact Us for Repair.

04. END OF LIFE

Landfills are a design flaw. Return worn-out gear. We recycle it. You get $15 Store Credit.

"THE DEEPEST IMPACT COMES FROM USING LESS. WEAR IT LONGER, BUY ONLY WHAT MIGRATES WITH YOU."

08 // FIELD IMPACT

THE THIRD COAST INITIATIVE.

We fund quarterly Third Coast beach clean-ups and partner with the Surfrider Foundation (Chicago Chapter) for the Blue Water Task Force protocol.

1,000 LBS

2026 GOAL: REMOVE TRASH FROM CHICAGO SHORELINES.
Partner: Surfrider Foundation
